The Awards Ceremony honors the achievements of IEEE and IEEE Communications Society members. The Society’s Career & Service Awards pay tribute to technical professionals whose exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on technology, society, the engineering profession, and humanity. Recipients of these Awards are recognized as the most influential members in their chosen field. Career award recipients are revered for their resolve to discover, extend, or complement technological advancements in education, industry, research and service. Service award recipients are recognized and honored for their distinguished and exemplary service to ComSoc over a sustained period of time. Each year, new recipients join ComSoc’s prestigious award honoree list through a selective nomination and approval process.

This event is included with the full conference registration. Banquet tickets will be collected to ensure eligibility for event attendance. Additional tickets are available at the registration desk.

In this interconnected world of global opportunities and collaboration, this panel will explore the topic of innovation – from academic research and intellectual property view to new locally and globally relevant ideas that inspire entrepreneurship in emerging economies. How is innovation nurtured across the world? Are governments, companies, schools taking advantage of access to technologies and ideas to further innovation? The IEEE GLOBECOM 2015 Organizing Committee welcomes you to an exclusive private evening tour of the San Diego Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park. Come see the history of Aerospace at San Diego’s premier aviation museum, where docents will be available to explain the history surrounding each of the exhibits. Then follow us into the Rotunda for a fine dining experience with your colleagues. After dinner, resume your tour of the museum and try out the flight simulators for a little after-dinner thrill ride.

Bus transportation will begin departing from the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel at 18:30, and will return you to the hotel beginning at 21:15.
